Buddha Close Up
Types of Yoga Classes

Anyone can start a yoga practice, even if you don’t feel like you are very flexible or very strong. These things improve the longer you practice. One of the most difficult, but ultimately most liberating, things about yoga is letting go of the ego and accepting that no one is better than anyone else. Everyone is just doing their best on any given day.

Restorative, Yin Yoga, Restore

Restorative yoga is gentle, slow and mostly floor-based. It includes holding poses for a longer time and the use of props for comfort. You'll walk away relaxed and restored. Yin yoga includes staying on the ground and holding poses for a long period of time to stress the connective tissue, joints, ligaments and tendons. Props are used to deepen the pose or support the body.  These classes are great for beginners, people healing their body, or those who want to move a little less.

Slow Flow Yoga

These classes have a general vinyasa flow, but without the more intense planks, pushups, and fast-paced sequences. You'll do many of the common poses, and enjoy time seated as well as standing. Great for beginners as well as seasoned yogis.

Vinyasa Yoga
(Mindful, Melodic, Candlelight, Lila Slow Flow, Wonder and Soul Flow)

Vinyasa flow begins on the ground, moves to standing flows and balancing poses, and then goes back to the ground for more. It can be somewhat challenging, but not incredibly fast-paced. A great blend. Good for all levels.

Powerful Flow / Yoga Strength

These classes include the benefits of yoga with the heat of a workout. You'll challenge yourself a bit more, work a little faster and add in abs and more active poses. All levels welcome, however due to the fast pace you may want to be sure you're familiar with the poses and proper alignment. Be prepared for challenge.
